The Royal Air Force aerobatic display team, The Red Arrows, landed at Marshall Airport in Cambridge both before and after their appearance at the Duxford Airshow on Saturday the 5th of September. Prior to the display the Red Arrows flew over the city, including performing a fly-past for the CUFC game.
If Cambridge residents keep putting their crosses in the Liberal Democrat box this may be one of the last times the Red Arrows visit Cambridge. Cllr Reid is leading efforts to move Marshall off their airport site to enable it to be used for house building. Marshall have indicated they may undertake a UK wide search for a new site if they move. I think this would be a great loss to the city.

On Sunday the 6th of September 2009 The Red Arrows will leave Cambridge Airport at 11:44 land again at 12:34 and take off for their final departure at 14:14. 1
I stood on Newmarket Road and watched the Red Arrows fly into Cambridge Airport. They first flew over in formation, emitting white smoke as they passed over the airfield. They then split up, half on one side of the runway half on the other, then came round to land one by one with only a few seconds between each plane..
After lunch the Red Arrows took off again. Ten jets lined up on the runway, all left within seconds of each other, with three groups of three taking off simultaneously.

Great pics thanks! We happened to pass by chance and see their amazing take off and landing.
We’ve just been treated to an amazing air show by the Red Arrows, which we’ve been watching from our bedroom window in Romsey.
At one point near the end, two planes each flew in a big loop to make an enormous heart shape together in the sky – and then a third plane flew through to draw an arrow. I wonder if there’s an interesting story behind that?
We left Bar Hill around 6pm to come home to Bury St Edmunds and pulled into a layby on the A14 to watch the Red Arrows as far too many people were paying more attention to them than to what was happening on the road. Fantastic display, saw the heart shape as well. Thankyou gentlemen for a lovely end to our Sunday, from the two bikers in the layby.
I saw them again today as well. They were in Cambridge for the friends and family open day at Marshall.
“Progress” of the “Cambridge East Relocation Progress” ie. the Liberal Democrats’ efforts to get Marshall to move off the airport are on the agenda for the Cambridgeshire Horizons board meeting at 10:15 Thursday the 24th of September in the South Cambridgeshire District Council Offices, Cambourne.
Cambridge residents are to be represented by Liberal Democrat City Councillor Sian Read. Members of the public can attend.
I was heading towards Cambridge from Balsham with my sister, our children and our parents when we saw the heart in the sky. It was perfect timing as we were going out for a family dinner to celebrate our parents Ruby Wedding Anniversary. It really made their day extra special. We like to think it was done especially for them. Fantastic.

It would be a shame for Cambridge if they lost this, it’s quite something to play host to the Red Arrows. I’ve never seen them perform but they’ve roared over a couple of times, and did a fly-by for the town once, but they were coming back from another event. They did give us a quick burst of smoke though. 😛

We have created the link to Cambridge as they cover relevant stories about the red arrows (Red Arrows Air Show & Red Arrows Fly High ) and offer local news stories which we thought your users maybe interested in. Our intention was not to create “spammy” links, if you were talking about dishwashers then I would agree but its a relevant subject.
Google themselves do state that creating links in comments that offer further relevant sites for reading is exactly what they like to see, its social sharing. As you mentioned you link to Cambridge News in other areas which would not offer a maximum benefit anyway and as Capata mentions its a nofollow which only pass minimal “link juice”. We hope that you are not offended by our comment as the last thing we would do is create spammy links! We are white hat all the way!
Chris, you must think we were all born yesterday! If you really thought that the link to the Cambridge News would be useful in the way you describe, you would surely have made the link text “see the Cambridge News for useful coverage” or something like that. Hiding the link into the word “Cambridge” is disingenuous.
Further, as an agency acting on behalf of the organisation you are promoting through your links, in the interest of disclosure and transparency, you really ought to have added the link back to your company when filling out the comment form. Not doing so makes it appear that you are hiding where you are coming from and what your intentions are.

It’s a pity the Cambridge News don’t take advice from those suggesting they make more of the vast amount of content on their site and improve their traffic by providing a better service than resorting to these kinds of tactics.
Richard’s website is very highly rated for search engine optimisation. If you type ‘Cambridge Lib Dems’ into Google then one of his articles is listed in 2nd place.
Perhaps if Richard worked with one of these companies then he could come top!
