Thank you for this web-site. I have been helping a friend trying to save the trees along Hobson's Brook and some remaining non native Cypress species on Empty Common. 276 people signed a petition against the felling of mature trees in this area but the Council continued. Very upset by the extent of the devastation. Too much too soon. I am all for helping the bird population food source but some evergreens and non native species are needed in a polluted city environment. My friend is saying that the council's policy amounts to "tree racism" I have visions of Easter Island. The trees should be managed not destroyed. Thank you.
