An Ecops email message from the police on the 19th stated:

Another issue we have picked up on in the last week is that there has been
many cases of criminal damage to vehicles on Victoria road,Stretten avenue and Finch close. Many of these incidents occured on the 15/11/08, If anybody has seen anything or has any
information please let us know.

They mean "Finch Road" I expect.

I have suggested they look at the City Council's CCTV.

I am concerned that they only appear to record the damage to vehicles.

The suggestion that the neighbourhood police have somehow "picked up" on this suggests poor communication between those responding on the night and those now presumably investigating.

Cambridge City Council's CCTV manager has written to say:
We do have a number of incidents in the area and should be able to help but await the police request.
