Part 10 of the first schedule of the statues says: <blockquote>There shall be a Union of Students of the University entitled “the Imperial College Union” which shall for all purposes be treated solely as an integral part of the University.</blockquote> Imperial’s new charter and statues from 2007 maintains that the union is part of Imperial College. Part 10 of the first schedule of the statues says:
